Pep Talk.

Pep Talk.

Ø      This is not necessarily a common question but it has come up in exam questions in the past.
Ø      Read the question carefully and underline exactly what you are being asked to do.
Ø      Take note of the amount of marks awarded for the question and plan your answer length accordingly.
Ø      This can be written from the perspective of your own experience or you can fictionalize it entirely.
Ø      Who is your audience and what is your setting/background? What sport are you playing? Are you the coach, captain, etc?
Ø      Brainstorm and plan your answer.
Ø      Your aim here is to motivate a group of people so use imperatives, “We have to win!” and superlatives, “This is the biggest game of your lives!”
Ø      Use rhetorical questions to inspire your team.
Ø      Refer to past glories and accomplishments of the club/team.
Ø      Refer to words like pride and glory and respect.
Ø      Refer to the importance of winning to your supporters.
Ø      Use famous quotes, make them up if necessary.
Ø      Use famous champions for reference.
Ø      Use lots of exclamation marks to infer your tone of voice.
Ø      Keep the marking scheme in mind. Use paragraphs. Read over your answer when finished and correct any mistakes you may have made.
